Why Am I the Dysfunctional Cook?

There is no sincerer love than the love of food.  And as someone who has lived in some of the greatest food cities in the world – Mumbai, Singapore, Jakarta and now New York, I count myself as a hard core foodie.

My Cooking isn’t a never ending stream of “instagrammable” moments. I’ll be honest, it can get ugly. Things run over, things burn, things spatter – often on my skin – leaving painful welts. Cooking isn’t comfortable, standing over a hot stove or oven becoming a sweaty mess. Oh and it hurts too- your shoulders, your wrists, your fingers, your legs, hell, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay.

When you cook, and eat, you create magic. You put love, passion and good memories into your body.  You smell, taste and see a brief moment of a thousand years of culture, history and tradition. You partake in something profound. And it changes you.

With this blog, I hope to leave something good behind, in my own dysfunctional way.
